Creation of new pampering room
at Attiko Hospital
doValue Greece and the patients "Next to Woman" Association signed a memorandum of cooperation today to expand their partnership, which involves the creation of a new "pampering room" at the Oncology Unit of the Attiko Hospital, thus confirming their ongoing commitment to supporting those battling cancer.
The new agreement provides for the creation of a modern "Pampering Room," a specially designed space that meets the standards of the first Pampering Room that operated successfully at the Aretaieio Hospital.
In this space, patients will have access to comprehensive Lifestyle Medicine services, specially designed for people who are facing or have faced cancer — such as medical lifestyle support, exercise guidance, personalized nutritional counseling, sleep monitoring, psychologist sessions, as well as smoking cessation and alcohol reduction/cessation programs.
At the same time, the new Pampering Room will host the comprehensive Survivorship program, which is part of the Attiko Hospital's innovative Survivorship Clinic — an innovative initiative that aims to provide systematic support to patients in the post-treatment period, with an emphasis on physical recovery, mental resilience, and overall quality of life.
Specifically, the initiative is a continuation of the fruitful collaboration that began in 2021 with the creation of the first pampering room at the Aretaieio Hospital and is now evolving into a broader vision: the creation of a network of pampering rooms in public hospitals throughout Greece, with the aim of offering more women the opportunity to receive holistic care.
As stated by the President of doValue Greece, Mr. Theodoros Kalantonis, "doValue Greece continues to invest in actions that have a real social impact and reflect our values. The collaboration with the "Next to Woman" Association proves that when scientific knowledge, care, and social sensitivity are combined, initiatives can be created that improve patients' quality of life and offer hope. Our goal is to contribute to the creation of a network of pampering rooms in public hospitals across the country, enabling more women to experience the power of supportive medicine. "Next to Woman" Association, through its systematic work and contributions, has proven to be an important and steadfast partner in this effort.
The President of the Association "Next to Woman", Dr. Kalliopi Kalaitzi, a physician specializing in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, stated: "The support of doValue Greece over the years has allowed us to realize our vision of more humane and holistic care for women who are ill, starting with the Aretaieio Hospital. With the creation of the new pampering room at the Attiko Hospital, we are taking another step towards spreading this philosophy to other public hospitals in Greece. Together, we are proving that care is not limited to treatment but embraces the whole person. This is a concept that we advocate and serve as an Association. The collaboration with a leading hospital such as the Attiko is a great honor for all of us."
Amanda Psyrri, Professor of Pathology-Oncology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Director of the Second Department of Internal Medicine and Scientific Director of the Oncology Unit, emphasized "We are constantly striving to provide patients at the Oncology Unit of the Attiko Hospital with services that incorporate Greek research and best international practices, creating innovative medical protocols that improve treatment outcomes and patients' quality of life."
