Energy efficiency upgrade of
the ARSIS Shelter for Unaccompanied
Minors in Oreokastro
doValue Greece concluded the energy upgrade of the ARSIS (Association for the Social Support of Youth) NGO Unaccompanied Minor Guesthouse in Oraiokastro. This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to actively demonstrate the commitment doValue Greece has undertaken to consistently stand by the community and its needs.
The energy upgrade of the building involved the replacement of 35 door and window frames in the main guesthouse. These were four-season energy-certified constructions, offering efficient operation all year round, in line with all the Building Energy Performance Regulation (KENAK) standards, and with a coefficient below 2. This way they ensure optimal temperature within the building and save valuable energy.
Note that the ARSIS Unaccompanied Minor Guesthouse in Oraiokastro, which hosts up to 21 children aged 6-18, was established in 2009. This is the first building upgrade project of this magnitude since then. doValue chose to carry out this project after talking with the Guesthouse officials and concluding that it was a top and immediate priority.
The project, which will improve the living conditions of the children hosted at the Guesthouse, was presented today (Thursday 25 April) by doValue Greece CEO Mr Tassos Panoussis. The event was honored with the presence of the Vice-Regional Head of Health and Social Solidarity of Central Macedonia, Mrs. Maria Melina Dermendzopoulou and the Mayor of Oraiokastro, Mr. Pantelis Tsakiris.
