Self-Determination Support Programme for Adult Beneficiaries Exelixi Zois (Life Evolution)
doValue Greece, remaining consistent with its strategy and plan of Corporate Social Responsibility actions in the main pillars of Health, Environment and Society, continues to support initiatives and actions that give value to important social issues such as the support of vulnerable groups, the socialization of young people facing difficult family circumstances, the needy and other groups of our society that need support.
In this context, doValue decided to continue to contribute to the project of the NGO "EXELIXI ZOIS" which aims to support and empower adolescents (16-17 years old) and young adults (18-25 years old) from closed child protection institutions, with the goal of preparing and achieving independent and dignified living and creative integration into society, including integration into the labour market.
Support of Exelixi Zois initiatives focuses on two axes:
The first one, support in terms of self-empowerment of adult beneficiaries (18-25 years old) and in particular the assumption of the annual costs of two beneficiaries for issues related to:
- Support in finding accommodation, financial support for rent
- Financial support for studies
- Career counselling and psychosocial empowerment sessions
- Support for connection to the labour market
- Provision of guidance in everyday life
The second, empowerment of the professional identity of the adult beneficiaries. doValue too opened its door and created job opportunities for young people looking for their next day in society and their orientation towards professional rehabilitation. This initiative, among others, includes:
- Familiarization with the candidate selection process (interview, CV writing, etc.)
- Fixed-term employment
On Thursday, 7th September 2023, at a special charity dinner hosted by EXELIXI ZOIS and its president Mrs. Dimitra Kalantoni, at the Goulandris Natural History Museum, the work and goals for the empowerment and self-determination of adolescents and young adults from institutional care environments were presented.
doValue was present as a supporter of the organization since 2022, in an evening that recognized and rewarded the efforts and successes of the organization's beneficiaries during the 2022-2023 school year, who proved, each one individually, that every child can change his or her life on his or her own strengths as long as he or she receives the right empowerment. At the event, doValue Greece was honored with an award for its support and contribution to the work of the organization, which was received by Mr. Tassos Panoussis, CEO of the company. The award was presented to Mr Panoussis by Venus Matumba, a member of the EXPLIXI ZOIS community, who in recent months has been a member of the doValue Greece Marketing & Communication team in the context of the programme to strengthen the professional identity of adult beneficiaries.
The value of the whole effort and the importance of both the work of EVOLIXI ZOIS and its supporters is summarized in the beneficiary's words "Life chooses the starting point but YOU choose the end". As Mr. Tasos Panousis said in his speech, "we ought to join forces and give support and resources for the journey, but also the finishing point and the fulfillment of these children's goals".
